-
Parents must be Baltimore City residents.
- Children must be entering K-5 for the school semester beginning in
the fall.
- Children entering grades 1-5 must currently be
enrolled in public school.
- Children coming from either private or public
pre-school are eligible.
- Children entering kindergarten in the fall are
eligible even if their siblings are in private school.
- If your family meets the above qualifications, then
check your income eligibility by following the steps below.
- Estimate your total household annual
income (Total household income is
your income and the income of your spouse, if you are married). To
estimate your household income use the following:
- Payment stubs
from your employer(s)
- Any additional
income from the following must be added, AFDC, ADC, SSI, food
stamps, Section 8, other public assistance, child support, or
alimony
- If you filed
taxes the previous year, use the tax return to help you with the
estimate.
- Calculate your family size. Your
family size includes yourself, your spouse (if applicable), all children
under 18, and family members who live with you and for whom you claim
financial responsibility.
- Compare the numbers you
calculated for your total household annual income and household size
with the figures you will find in the “Income
Eligibility Table” to determine your eligibility.
