The Maryland Public Policy Institute and its partners will host a nonpartisan, and wide-ranging forum on public education reform May 15 at Towson University. Moderated by WJZ-TV’s Mary Bubala, the panel will feature some of Maryland’s most respected education leaders, including Dr. Dallas Dance, Superintendent of Baltimore County Schools, former Maryland Schools Superintendent Dr. Nancy Grasmick, Jason Botel, founder of KIPP Baltimore and executive director of MarylandCAN, Nina Rees of the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools, and Lindsey Burke of The Heritage Foundation.
Members of the press and the public are encouraged to attend. Topics discussed will include the hotly debated Common Core State Standards Initiative, universal pre-kindergarten, and the role of charter schools in Maryland.
Join us Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Towson University, West Village Commons Ballroom, 8000 York Road Towson, Maryland 21252. A Reception will commence at 6:00 pm, and the Program begins at 7:00 pm.
