On Thursday, November 14th, 2024, we will gather for the final hosting of The Baltimore Next Generation Investing Event at the World Trade Center in Baltimore. Since its launch in 2009, this event has been a remarkable success, raising over $1.7 million to support four local organizations dedicated to providing educational resources for Baltimore’s children, including the Children’s Scholarship Fund Baltimore. Last year, we received $40,000, a testament to the impact of our collective efforts and your generous support!
Every year, this ‘can’t miss’ event offers a unique opportunity to interact with four highly respected equity portfolio managers. These experts generously share their top stock picks with our privileged guests, making it a truly unique and valuable experience for attendees. The event was co-founded by Christy and Matt Wyskiel, and it holds special significance for CSFB, as Matt dedicated more than16 years to our board in various roles—including chair, treasurer, and volunteer interim Executive Director for several months.
Matt and Christy emphasize, “Regardless of zip code, children in Baltimore should have access to an excellent education. Data shows that granting leaders autonomy—such as through charter schools—reinforcing parent and child choice and placing outstanding talent in the classroom all contribute to better outcomes for children. Our long-term goal is to raise awareness and funds for initiatives that meaningfully change children’s lives in Baltimore. We are delighted by the ongoing interest and momentum surrounding this event after more than a decade.”
We hope to see you at the final Next Generation Investing event on November 14th. Tickets are still available for purchase. If you are unable to attend the event, donations, no matter the size, are always appreciated. The Next Generation Investing Event Board of Directors pays 100 percent of the event’s administrative costs so that your donations and ticket purchases go directly to the four organizations the event supports.
As we approach this bittersweet conclusion, CSFB, our families, and scholars wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of the donors and sponsors for the tremendous support we have received throughout the years. Thank you to those who have contributed to our mission of providing partial K-8th grade scholarships and supporting school choice for low-income students in Baltimore City.
With gratitude,

—Erica Jensen
