Often seen as the season of giving thanks, November encourages us all to appreciate the blessings in our lives—big and small. Embracing gratitude can elevate our outlook and strengthen our connections with others.
Gratitude is more than just saying “thank you”; it’s a mindset that brings positivity, resilience, and improved well-being. Research has shown that people who practice gratitude experience lower levels of stress, more satisfaction in relationships, and overall better mental health. By focusing on the things we’re grateful for, we shift our perspective and make room for kindness, empathy, and generosity. November is an ideal time to practice these principles and share them with those around us, like our family and children, by starting fun and fulfilling traditions.
In this spirit, it’s the perfect time to give back, particularly to those who support our community’s future. Your support is crucial in our shared mission to provide K – 8 scholarships and a brighter future for Baltimore’s youth.
A Season for Giving Back: Support CSF Baltimore
One way to spread gratitude this season is by supporting CSFB. Here are some meaningful ways you can give this season:
- Making a donation. Direct Donations are a straightforward yet impactful way to give. Donations are accepted online or by mailing a check to CSFB P.O. Box 5282 Baltimore, MD 21224. Gifts may also be dedicated in honor of someone.
- Recurring Gifts: Consider setting up a recurring monthly donation. Even small amounts, when combined with others, provide continuous support for CSF Baltimore’s mission and helps the organization plan for long-term initiatives.
- Wire or Stock Transfer. Yes, we accept these too! Call us at 410-243-2510 for details.
- Participate in Workplace Giving Programs
- Many companies have programs that allow employees to donate to charities through payroll deductions, often with matching contributions. Check if your employer has a corporate matching program and choose CSFB as your beneficiary to make your gift even more impactful.
- Sponsor a Student Scholarship
- Another significant way to help is by sponsoring a student scholarship. The cost of tuition and school fees can be a significant hurdle for many families. A gift of $2,500 supports one scholar for an entire year! This investment impacts not only the student, but also their families and even future generations! Email our executive director, Erica Jensen at ericajensen@csfbaltimore.org, for more information.
- Encourage Your Friends and Family to Give
- Gratitude and generosity are often contagious! Share CSF Baltimore’s mission and your support for our work with friends and family. By spreading awareness, you inspire others to contribute, creating a ripple effect that furthers the foundation’s reach and impact.
- Make an End-of-Year gift for 2024
- It’s always a good time to give to a cause you care about, but the end of the year can be one of the most beneficial to you when it comes to taxes and claiming charitable deductions. There are many year-end giving opportunities depending on your situation.
- Celebrate Giving Tuesday with CSFB
- After Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday comes Giving Tuesday, a global movement dedicated to charitable giving. This year Giving Tuesday will be celebrated on December 3rd, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Consider making a contribution to CSFB on this day and encourage others to participate as well by sharing our social media posts on your personal Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram pages.
- Many organizations and employers offer matching funds for donations made on Giving Tuesday, making it an ideal time to give to a cause you believe in. Make sure to ask your company if they participate.
The Impact of Gratitude and Generosity
By supporting CSFB, you’re not only practicing gratitude but also actively contributing to the transformative power of education for Baltimore’s low-income students. Your donations directly impact their lives, helping 98% of our scholars graduate high school and 84% become college graduates, creating a lasting legacy that benefits society as a whole.
This November, let’s take time to express our gratitude and give back in ways that create real impact. Together, we can make a difference, one student and one opportunity at a time.
