Every child is wonderfully unique and should have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a school that truly reflects who they are and what they need.
Every parent wants to choose that kind of school—the one that’s the best fit for their child. But for many low-income families in Baltimore City, that opportunity isn’t just hard to find—it’s entirely out of reach.
That’s where Children’s Scholarship Fund Baltimore (CSFB) steps in. A CSFB scholarship opens that door. It gives parents the support they need to choose the K–8 school that aligns with their child’s unique learning style and potential—and unlocks a world of possibilities.
But creating opportunity doesn’t happen automatically. It starts with a first step. And that step begins with you.
This June, as we conclude our school year, we invite you to be part of something powerful: our “You Fund the First Step” campaign.
Thanks to generous supporters like you, we are making a lasting difference:
- 272 K–8 scholarships were awarded this school year—272 doors opened, and futures rewritten.
- 98% of our scholars graduate from high school, demonstrating the enduring impact of early educational opportunity.
- 95% attend one of Baltimore’s top public, charter, or magnet schools, where they continue to thrive.
- 100% of CSFB families, all living at or below the federal poverty level, contribute to their child’s education—averaging over $5,000 annually, more than ten times the required minimum. That’s not just commitment. That’s belief in their child’s future.
Last school year, we raised the individual scholarship cap from $2,000 to $2,500 to better support our families. This increase helps ease the financial burden so that parents can continue prioritizing their child’s education.
