Updated from a previous November 2023 post.

We are always so moved by the generosity and thoughtfulness of our CSFB families, friends, partners, and schools who go above and beyond to help when they can. If you’re looking to give back to your community this giving season there are so many wonderful opportunities to do so! Here is a list of a few Baltimore organizations that could always use a little extra support during the holidays.

UNITED WAY OF CENTRAL MARYLAND

Local programs focus on housing, health, economic advancement, and education in the central Maryland region. The United Way accepts donations and volunteers throughout the year. This amazing organization is currently celebrating their 100th year of making an impact. As a way of honoring their anniversary, each individual who donates will be added to their digital recognition wall.

SANTA CLAUS ANONYMOUS

Give the gift of, well, gifts! This charitable organization has been providing children of Baltimore with special presents they wouldn’t otherwise receive. They’ve been bringing joy to the Baltimore community for 90 years! We are so happy that they are continuing to spread holiday cheer but, like every organization striving to make an impact, they need our help to continue their mission. You can donate to Santa Claus Anonymous at their website. Join in on one of their fun events, like the Annual Wine and Beer Tasting on December 11 or the Ravens Crab Feast at Skiptown on December 15.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL BALTIMORE

With multiple shelter services, supportive housing programs, food access programs, and more, St. Vincent de Paul Baltimore’s mission is to “ensure those impacted by poverty have the skills, resources, and opportunity to achieve their full potential.” Get involved through multiple opportunities like meal service, corporate volunteer opportunities, or youth involvement. Consider organizing a group volunteer opportunity or food drive at your office.

MARYLAND FOOD BANK

Working year-round to combat food insecurity, the Maryland food bank hosts holiday-specific initiatives. You can volunteer at the food bank in Baltimore as an individual or as part of a larger group. Read the information on their volunteer or donate pages for locations and details.

GIVING BACK LINDA’S LEGACY

This charity aims to provide warm clothes to homeless individuals through its annual drive while creating an impactful volunteer environment in Baltimore and the surrounding areas. Visit their website to learn more.

HOUSE OF RUTH MARYLAND

This organization supports victims of intimate partner violence through shelter services and training opportunities. The House of Ruth welcomes groups of volunteers to help their Baltimore location. They’re also always looking for donations of personal items, clothing, baby and children’s items, cookware, cleaning supplies, and more.

TOYS FOR TOTS

Toys For Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps that collects and distributes new toys as Christmas gifts to children from less fortunate families. For more than 75 years, the organization has distributed over 604 million toys to more than 272 million children. Click here to learn how you can help. While their 2024 Toy Campaign is currently closed, they are accepting applications for 2025. December 10 is the final day for 2024 toy collection efforts. View their website for drop-off locations.

Give Baltimore

Finally, if you’re looking for even more organizations to consider for your end-of-year giving gifts, Baltimore Magazine has their annual list of Give Baltimore 2024 organizations on their website here. Check it out for some great nonprofit organizations.

Happy Holidays to our CSFB families and friends! We hope you have a happy and healthy holiday season. See you in 2025!
